The pots are bubbling, the fish is sizzling when you put it in the pan and it smells deliciously of thyme and lemon: can we transport all these emotions to the viewers at home in a livestream? At least we tried it and the feedback from the audience was unanimous: it worked 🙂
Cooperation between Blubb Media and Stream1
Responsible for the live show: Stream1. Blubb Media from Stuttgart asked us to technically realise the live show. We worked closely with the agency for moving images on the concept, set-up and design of the livestream. The cooking was done in an event kitchen in Schwabing. To make sure everything went well on the livestream evening, our livestream technician Michael visited the location in advance. In this way, many questions could be clarified in advance, such as the camera perspectives.
From Paprika Thyme Soup to Tartlets with Thyme
The cooked menu makes gourmet hearts beat faster: A paprika and thyme soup with Mediterranean ratatouille and fluffy butter gnocchi was cooked as a starter. The main course was a salmon fillet with lemon thyme sauce and creamy polenta. The crowning glory was a curd cheese and mascarpone tartlet with pear ragout and thyme.
Viewers at home could join in the cooking live
The viewers at home received the list of ingredients and the recipes in advance by e-mail. They were taken step by step through each course and were thus able to join in the cooking live.
Multiple camera perspectives for deep insight into pots and pans
We achieved deep insights into the pots and pans with several cameras. This is how we hung a Sony PTZ cameras above the hob. Three more PTZ cameras (CANON CR-N500) were distributed around the room, and a mobile camera captured detail shots of the dishes on the sideboard, for example. The platform for the livestream was Youtube. The accompanying persons could follow the stream and the cooking live on three monitors. We achieved beautiful, harmonious ambient lighting with Astera AX10 LED headlights, Astera AX5 LED headlights and Astera TitanTubesLED headlights. For the cosy living room flair, we used additional LED panels.
