The Mine Media Q8 is an all-rounder in our livestream setup because it combines two important functions in one device: Internet bonding and livestream encoding. This means that the Mine Media Q8 bonding encoder is, on the one hand, the interface that transmits the live streams to their destination. On the other hand, the Q8 is an Internet router that combines mobile radio, LAN and WIFI, so that stable Internet is always guaranteed, even if a connection weakens.
With battery supply: a jack of all trades!
The Q8 can combine up to 6 network connections (three LTE modems, a USB port, Wi-Fi and Ethernet), while the power supply runs on battery power. With its practical size, it is ideal for mobile live streaming, whether traveling, weddings, outdoor events, press conferences and many other occasions. The internal battery lasts for 2-3 hours of live streaming at a time, but this time can of course be extended as required with an external power supply.
Professional standards? Bull’s eye!
The Bonding Encoder Q8 uses two powerful protocols that have become the standard almost everywhere: RTMP and SRT. While RTMP is mainly used for live streaming on popular platforms such as YouTube, Facebook or Vimeo, SRT scores with its low latency. The open source protocol is also widely used in the TV sector and is particularly suitable for uplinks, for example when an outside reporter is switched into a studio. This makes the Q8 suitable for all conceivable transmissions.
Everything comes together in the Q8
Whether HDMI or SDI, common video sources can be easily combined in the Q8. The encoder can also record the input signal and transmit recorded data. Image and text overlays, scrolling text and many other features enable users to stream from the most remote locations just as stably as from the heart of a capital city.
